Background: AMR is one of the top 10 global public health threats. Pipeline of new antibiotics is drying up. Resistance to last-line drugs increase. Side effects as microbiome disruption come to the fore. Fighting AMR requires all effective tools — both new and old. Conventional approaches alone are insufficient, global and local action plans need well-coordinated implementation by all stakeholders.
Methods: In a narrative review we collected best practice examples of TCIM approaches 2020-2025 to highlight their added value to the healthcare system.
Results: Several publications on research agendas, outcome sets, clinical approaches and expert recommendations on infections were identified as best practice models.
Conclusion: In this presentation we give a selection of each one of these modalities.
