Nature Bath Workshop
Abstract
Introduction:
The Nature Bath falls within the field of nature-based health practices, which promote well-being and reconnection through conscious interaction with the natural environment. The experience consists of a guided immersion in a natural setting, using mindfulness methodologies and exploration of the five senses to foster physical, mental, and emotional balance.
This workshop aims to bring this experience, already offered within Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS) in the municipality of São Bento do Sul/SC, to the 3rd World Congress on TCIM, enabling participants to experience the benefits of the practice firsthand.
Objectives:
Provide an immersive experience in a natural environment, focused on well-being and reconnection;
Present the practice as implemented in SUS, increasing its visibility on an international stage;
Encourage reflection on the experience as a tool for global health promotion.
Methodology:
The workshop will be conducted in a group setting within a natural environment and will last approximately 90 minutes. The experience involves a light walk, alternating moments of silence, observation, breathing exercises, and sensory perception activities (sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste). The process is guided, respecting individual pace while fostering collective integration.
At the end of the workshop, participants will be invited to create an artistic expression using colored pencils and paper, which will be displayed on the Congress panel.
Participant Guidelines:
Wear comfortable shoes suitable for trail walking;
Bring a personal water bottle;
Light clothing and sunscreen are recommended.
Target Audience:
Congress participants interested in experiencing integrative practices, health professionals, researchers, and others interested in nature-mediated care experiences.
