The deadline for discounted registration for the 3rd World Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (3rd WCTCIM) is May 29, 2025. Starting May 30, registration fees will increase. The event will take place from October 15 to 18, 2025, at the Riocentro Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, bringing together experts, researchers, and health professionals from around the world to discuss the advancements and challenges of Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) in global public health.

The 3rd WCTCIM offers differentiated rates to facilitate the participation of a wide range of attendees:

  • Registration categories: Health researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, public health managers, and TCIM leaders benefit from reduced fees, with rates adjusted according to countries’ income classification based on UN criteria.

  • Discounts for partner institutions:

    • CABSIN members: 30% discount. Membership can be obtained via the official website of the Consórcio Acadêmico Brasileiro de Saúde Integrativa (CABSIN).

    • ISCMR and ESIM members: 20% discount for members of the International Society for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine Research (ISCMR) and the European Society of Integrative Medicine (ESIM).

    • Institutions associated with CABSIN: 20% discount for members of the MTCI Americas Network, PICS Brazil Network, Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM), Planetary Health Alliance, TCIH Coalition, Brazilian Coalition for Evidence, and BraveNet.

    • Other supporting institutions: 15% discount for members of affiliated organizations.

Another way to receive a discount is through group registration: groups with more than 10 participants receive a 30% discount, provided they make a single payment and submit a proposal with participant information.

About the World Congress

The 3rd WCTCIM is organized by the Consórcio Acadêmico Brasileiro de Saúde Integrativa (CABSIN), in partnership with the International Society for Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine Research (ISCMR) and the European Society of Integrative Medicine (ESIM). This edition marks the first time the congress will be held in Latin America.

The event aims to strengthen global public health through knowledge diversity, well-being societies, and planetary health, promoting the integration of TCIM into health systems and discussing evidence-informed public policies.

The congress will host researchers and experts from all six world regions, fostering an international exchange of knowledge and practices in TCIM. With support from the World Health Organization (WHO), the event will feature key debates on the implementation of the WHO Global Strategy on Traditional Medicine 2025–2034. The program also includes the launch of the Global Alliance of Academic Consortia on Integrative Health and the preliminary presentation of the WHO Global Library of Evidence on TCIM.

Submission Deadlines Open Until June 18

The 3rd WCTCIM has several open calls for submissions until June 18, 2025, offering opportunities for active participation in the congress’s scientific and institutional programming. Below are the available formats:

Abstract Submission

Open to researchers, professionals, and students wishing to present research results, case reports, or experience reports in TCIM. Selected works may be presented as oral communications or posters and will be published in the congress proceedings. Evaluation will consider originality, alignment with the congress axes, and methodological rigor. Abstracts must be submitted exclusively in English.

Activity Proposals

This call invites submissions for practical or reflective activities to be included in the official congress program, such as thematic sessions, workshops, symposia, experiential sessions, and cultural presentations. Proposals must demonstrate thematic relevance, potential impact, and implementation feasibility. This is an opportunity to promote dialogue between diverse knowledge systems and integrative health experiences.
