Frontiers in Public Health Will Be the Official Scientific Journal of the 3rd WCTCIM

Journal to publish approved abstracts and receive articles for a special issue

The 3rd World Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (3rd WCTCIM) will feature a high-impact scientific platform for disseminating knowledge generated at the event. In partnership with Frontiers in Public Health, one of the most recognized international public health journals, the congress will offer two publication opportunities: the official 3rd WCTCIM abstract book and a themed special issue.

Publication of the 3rd WCTCIM Proceedings

All abstracts approved for presentation at the 3rd WCTCIM — whether in the research, clinical case report, or experience report categories — will be published in the official 3rd WCTCIM abstract book by Frontiers in Public Health, ensuring broad international visibility. The scientific research category includes quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods studies, including systematic reviews, clinical trials, or population-based studies, with a focus on robust methodologies and results relevant to policies or integrative health practices. The clinical case report category is designed for presenting unique and relevant cases in TCIM clinical practice, highlighting interventions, outcomes, and insights. Experience reports showcase practices implemented in public, community, or hospital health services, including actions in promotion, prevention, or integrative care with observable impacts.

Each submission must follow specific technical guidelines and will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee based on thematic relevance, originality, methodological rigor, and alignment with the congress’s thematic axes. Accepted abstracts will be presented as posters or oral communications, at the discretion of the organization, and will be part of the official digital collection of the event.

Special Issue on TCIM

The journal has an open call for full article submissions for the special issue “Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine – Advancing Knowledge for Sustainable Health Worldwide,” which will be published as part of the 3rd WCTCIM scientific activities. This special issue will gather original contributions from researchers, health professionals, policymakers, and traditional knowledge holders, aiming to deepen the congress’s central themes, such as knowledge diversity, integrative practices across the lifespan, planetary health, sustainable systems, and evidence-based policies. The goal is for the issue to serve as a scientific legacy of the event, consolidating recent advances and future perspectives for TCIM on a global scale.

The publication will be carried out continuously throughout 2025 and highlighted during the congress. Article submissions must follow the editorial guidelines of Frontiers in Public Health, meeting standards of quality, methodological rigor, and public health relevance.

Publication will occur on a rolling basis throughout 2025, with a featured launch during the event. Submission is not contingent on in-person participation in the congress. Specific submission guidelines and deadlines will be announced soon on the congress’s official platforms.
