Arman Zargaran, PhD

Arman Zargaran (born 1985, Tehran) is an Associate Professor of Traditional Pharmacy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He also serves as the Head of the Department of History of Medicine and Director of International Affairs Development at the university. Furthermore, Dr. Zargaran holds the position of Vice for International Affairs at the Office of Persian and Complementary Medicine within Iran’s Ministry of Health. He contributes his expertise to the 3rd WCTCIM as a member of both the Program Committee and the Scientific Committee (Eastern Mediterranean Region).

Academic Background and Career Path

Dr. Zargaran established his academic foundation at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, where he studied pharmacy. He earned his PharmD in 2010, followed by a PhD in Traditional Pharmacy (specializing in phytopharmaceuticals) in 2015.

Subsequently, in 2016, he joined the faculty at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He currently holds the rank of Associate Professor of Traditional Pharmacy there. In addition to his teaching and research roles, Dr. Zargaran took on significant administrative responsibilities. In 2023, he was appointed Head of the Department of History of Medicine. He also serves as the Director of International Affairs Development for the university.
