Researchers have until April 21, 2025 to submit Abstracts to the 3rd World Congress on Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (3rd WCTCIM) in Rio de Janeiro, taking place from October 15 to 18, 2025. This international event, organized by the Brazilian Academic Consortium for Integrative Health (CABSIN) in partnership with the International Society for Complementary Medicine Research (ISCMR) and the European Society of Integrative Medicine (ESIM), invites researchers, health professionals, students, policy makers, managers and community leaders in the field of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) that embrace Phytotherapy, Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Body-Mind Practices, Indigenous Medicine, Yoga, Anthroposophic Medicine and several other modalities of traditional and complementary therapies.

The 3rd WCTCIM offers a unique opportunity to discuss innovative solutions and present advancements that promote global public health. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) the WHO Traditional Medicine Global Strategy 2025-2034 that will be presented and discussed during the congress. This event will explore themes such as Artificial Intelligence, Innovations in Mental Health Care, Integrative Oncology, Integrative Pediatrics, Antimicrobial Resistance, Healthy Lifestyle, among other crucial topics for the development of global health. The axis of the World Congress will focus on the Global diversity of Traditional,Complementary and Integrative Medicine, the integration of these practices into health systems, TCIM Evidence-informed contributions to public health, TCIM approaches alongside Lifespan, Education and training on TCIM, as well as topics related to planetary health, well-being societies and sustainability.
Submission Categories
Participants can submit their Abstract in three categories: Research, Case Report, and Experience Report. Submissions must be made exclusively in English. Learn more about each category:
1. Scientific Research:
Intended for quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods studies, including preclinical studies, Clinical Trials, Systematic reviews, and methodological studies. Abstracts must be 250-500 words , structured into introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. Authors must indicate the thematic axis and provide keywords (3 to 5, as per DECS).
2. Case Report:
This category must be up to 500 words and follow the CARE Report Guidelines, focusing on unique diagnoses and interventions with detailed descriptions of symptoms, treatments, and outcomes.
3. Experience Report:
Suitable to present practices and therapies implemented in community primary care, hospitals, and health promotion strategies globallys. Submissions may include a text of up to 1,000 words and videos with English subtitles if the original audio is in another language. This category highlights challenges faced, results achieved, and recommendations.
Deadlines and Requirements
The submission deadline is April 21, 2025, Brasília time (GMT -3). Be mindful of your time zone. Submissions sent via email or that do not comply with the standards will be disqualified. The main author may submit up to two Abstracts.
Authors and co-authors are not required to be registered for the congress at the time of submission; however, the main author must register for the Abstract to be presented and published in the proceedings and for certificates to be issued.
