As the world begins to discuss the new World Health Organization (WHO) Traditional Medicine Strategy for 2025-2034, approved in May, the ability to communicate the value of Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) becomes essential. In anticipation of the discussions at the 3rd World Congress on Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (3rd WCTCIM), the TCIH Coalition is launching the Pre-Congress Advocacy and Communication Training Series, a series of virtual trainings to strengthen advocacy in the field. The journey begins on July 1, 2025, with the live session “Introduction to policy and advocacy,” held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM UTC (8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, Rio de Janeiro time), and extends through September with preparatory meetings.
Training Professionals for TCIM Communication
The central purpose of the series is to equip professionals and researchers with advanced skills to actively participate in the congress discussions. The TCIH training series, in synergy with the World Congress’s objectives, represents a valuable opportunity to align skills with the discussions that will shape the future of TCIM. Free participation helps consolidate a stronger, more prepared global community to advocate for and advance integrative health on a global scale.
Complete Training Series Schedule
The program covers everything from strategic communication to creating a complete advocacy plan, through interactive and practical sessions designed to build communication skills, explore practical scenarios, help researchers take their findings beyond academia, and foster collaboration. In doing so, the initiative prepares participants to contribute decisively to the outcomes of the 3rd WCTCIM.

Mobilizing Advocacy in TCIM
The TCIH Coalition mobilizes a strategic alliance of global organizations with a clear objective: to integrate Traditional, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine (TCIM) into healthcare systems. The group’s work is guided by the TCIH Declaration, a manifesto calling on governments and the World Health Organization to implement policies that ensure citizen access to TCIM, promoting person-centered care. This declaration serves as the pillar for the Coalition, the network of organizations and professionals who endorse it. The group actively collaborates to transform the document’s principles into concrete actions, strengthening advocacy and driving research in the sector. The official partnership with the 3rd WCTCIM exemplifies this work. Through it, the coalition aligns its efforts with the congress’s goals to accelerate the advancement of evidence-based public policies. The strategic alliance also offers a direct benefit: signatories of the TCIH Declaration receive a special 20% discount on event registration using an exclusive coupon.
